4/07/2018 · For RIP there is a possible 2 ways to summarise. 1 - automatically by summarizing the subprefix's to the classful boundry with the auto-summary command. 2 - a specified summary address configured at some other classless / classful boundary. Similar to EIGRP too i guess.... Cisco routers don't enable RIPv2 by default. To use RIPv2, you must use the ver 2 command in RIP Router Configuration Mode. RIP automatically summarizes routing updates.
